MANIFESTO

I stand for an architecture that is conscious of its environment
and which uses all the surrounding resources available to create
integrated, sustainable and high-quality living spaces for all.
I believe that the task of architecture is to enhance people’s life,
regardless of their social background, but most importantly to
allow them to identify with their habitat. In a world that is shaped
by the built environment and where every design choice has an
impact on individuals, it is the responsibility of architects to ensure
environmental stability for the welfare of all.

ABIDJAN | SHANGHAI | SYDNEY ... NEW YORK

I was born in France but grew up in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. In 2014, I
moved to Shanghai to pursue a dual bachelor degree in Architecture
between Tongji University and the University of New South Wales
(Sydney). A year and half later, I moved to Sydney for 2 years to
complete my degree curriculum, then came back to Shanghai in
February 2018 to present my final graduation project and thesis.
Between those moves, I often went back to my home country for
holidays where I occasionally did internships.

I can say that my architectural education is characterized by a global
focus. African, Asian and Australian architectures have shaped my
understanding of the relationship between people, culture and
place. Studying and working in 3 cities: Abidjan, Shanghai and Sydney, taught me much about the importance of adaptation in architectural design but most importantly how models I have seen can be shared, reinterpreted and introduced from one place to another.

I am therefore always eager to learn from different environments.
Living in an era where cultures are constantly updating themselves
within the confines of modernism, I believe the strength of
contemporary architectural expression lies in the exchange of
knowledge between them.

INFLUENCES AND INTERESTS

In architecture, I find inspiration in simplicity, minimalism, sustainable
construction and durability.

I have been lucky enough to learn from great architects such as Glenn Murcutt, Guillaume Koffi or Issa Diabaté. They have influenced my architectural thinking which always seeks ecological functionalism while responding to the physical, social and psychological context of all my design projects.
